Why Hiring Managers Ignore your resume

Are you hearing nothing but crickets after you submit your resume? There are ways to remedy that. It's a frustrating cycle to spend hours searching for jobs, sink time into perfecting your applications, and then … *crickets!!*. Before you throw in the towel (or throw your computer out the window), here are some common reasons your resume is probably getting ignored — plus exactly what you can do to finally get noticed. Either the company is actively Hiring or the position has been put on hold, you are definitely going to get lost in a sea of resumes so how do you stand out from a hundred of other job applications? *Not playing smarter than the resume bots*: If you don't know about resume bots (more technically called applicant-tracking systems), here's a quick rundown: Companies, especially larger ones, use software to rank resumes. CV/ Resume

Recently, I was contacted by an applicant for a CV review, she just had her CV revamped but have not been getting invites.  I went through the CV and it looked great at first glance but at a second, I saw a misconception. Her professional summary says she is a "Seasoned Professional" in the field with track record doing some professional duties for an experience she does not have.  When you say someone is a "seasoned professional" it means the person is an expert and has years of experience in that profession. Dear CV Specialist, In the bid to make a client appear as the best candidate for a role, please do not over-qualify them for a role they do not fit! Resumes don't get the job done, people do!  A graduate with less than one year of experience in a profession is still learning, the resume should show career goals, diligence, teachability, learnability, skill-set, achievements, and knowledge acquired from internship/volunteer experiences. Make their Resume...

Are you still not on LINKEDIN?????*

*You are still not on LINKEDIN?????* I was discussing with a Recruiter a few weeks ago and I asked, "Where do you source your candidates from" he said "Linkedin" I asked "why LinkedIn? why not telegram and WhatsApp groups or any other social media platforms? He responded "Linkedin is a platform where you get professional/qualified candidates. There are some exclusive roles, you can only get experts on LinkedIn, posting those roles on those groups is a waste of time and creating an arduous recruiting process, a lot of unqualified persons will apply, I source for my candidates on Linkedin, There I can see their career history on their career dashboard and know my best fit"  I was amazed!! Dear Applicant, Our recruiters are now sourcing prospects for exclusive professional roles on Linkedin don't you think its time to sell yourself there too? Let's talk about LinkedIn  LinkedIn is a social network that focuses on professional networking and care...

Resume' Keywords

Keywords are words or short phrases that relate to particular requirements for a job. They are the skills, abilities, credentials, and qualities that a hiring manager looks for in a candidate. Resume keywords are critical to helping you get your resume noticed by employers. By including keywords in your resume and cover letter, you'll increase your chances of landing a job interview. Resume keywords are typically hard skills, behavioral competencies, requirements listed in the job description. Many recruiters rely on applicant tracking systems also known as talent management systems, to screen candidates for job openings, while others search by keyword inside the ATS. This is why tailoring your resume to the job requirements is important. If the software or the hiring manager does not detect any of the keywords in your resume or cover letter, your application might get thrown out. By embedding keywords in your resume or cover letter, you will demonstrate, at a glance, that you...
